About Me
Seven years ago two separate events converged in my life to help me realize that I was autistic: my three year old daughter was diagnosed with autism, and one of my long time friends began sending me many articles on how autism can present differently from the stereotypical little white boy that research was based around.
I saw too much of myself reflected in my daughter and in the articles that my friend sent me to not connect the dots. Diving deep into rabbit hole of autism, I continued to find more and more answers for why I never quite fit in, why I always found myself being ostracized as a child and teen, why I burned out rapidly in school and work.
One of the ways I have always sought to understand myself is through expository writing and introspection. So I share these blog posts in hopes that they can be bread crumbs that help lead other people like me to a greater understanding of themselves.
